SHERIDAN, Ind. (WISH) — May 6, Sheridan approved zoning for SkyLake, a new theme park revolving around exploring nature at your own pace.

In a 4-2 vote, the Sheridan Town Council approved the zoning for Monarch Ventures, the company developing the park, to build SkyLake at a 126-acre site at the northwest corner of U.S. 31 and 216th Street.

Sheridan Town Council President Silas DeVaney said this is only the first major project for the U.S. 31 corridor since they got control of its planning this year.

“I feel tonight’s approval of Skylake sets the tone for the 31 corridor and we will continue to be thoughtful about how our community changes over time. We look forward to working with Monarch Ventures as this project continues to move forward,” DeVaney said in the press release.
